Email Preview

when I turn my iphone 5 on, it shows me a preview of new emails. since this is a full screen preview, I am forced to dismiss each one before I can do anything else on my phone, or even see who is calling. How can I turn this off?

Go to Settings> Notifications>scroll down to Mail
You will see each email address you have set up on your device. Select each one and set to 'None' on Alert style
