Email attachment checker?

I've heard that there is something like this for Outlook and Gmail users but can't seem to find it for OS X/iPhone users. I did find an app that did this but it was quite pricey.

Is there a shortcut or setting that is there that I'm missing? I forget to attach files or pictures all the time to my emails. TIA!
