That’s why I’m saying “Sad for now”.

Also, I don’t expect tech companies will rehire as many people as they did. Many of them grew dramatically since 2020, and as things came back to a relative normal, you need to adjust for it.

Sad for now, the immediate future and possibly not so immediate future.

Add 10% for the technologies branch of Amazon, for a grand total of 3%

Your list only includes technology-centric companies.

One cannot discount all the other industries, that’s why I am not extremely worried. Information and Communications Technologies exist in every company, and in many cases, at their core. :)

Indeed. If the terminated employees want to to move to other sectors it’s up to them, but in tech it’s going to be a while.
