Found this on YouTube claims to have dropped it off a 24 story building with no damage. Do you think it's the "strongest glass ever" or the case?
After more than 15 years covering everything Apple, it’s with a heavy heart we announce that we will no longer be publishing new content on iMore and the iMore forums will be closing as of November 1st, 2024.
Hopefully, members who are interested in drop tests will reply soon. As for me, I’ve always found them to be wasteful and ridiculous.
Drop tests - even many of the allegedly "serious" ones that are on the web - are pointless imho. Hitting the ground in just a slightly different angle than the other object of comparison may make a newer, potentially more durable phone look more fragile. So as long as no real "lab grade conditions", are being used, I consider these tests as being not more than a waste of phones and time.
Exactly this.
I've seen screen shatter from a one foot fall and not do anything from a fall off a 12 foot ladder. It all depends on how they land.
I want to know how they afford to pay for a new phone and go break it?
