Downloading app. on iphone

Please suggest when i visit App. store on the iphone via internet, can i download application directly on the iphone. Or first i need to download the app. on itunes directory in my computer and then synchronize iphone with the computer to install the app on the phone?

Both ways are fine. Downloading right to the phone is obviously much easier. After you dload to your phone and connect it to iTunes on your computer it will automatically sync.
