I tried to download via iTunes last night but it said connection was lost so I tried OTA & it worked fine. I would just like to double check to make sure I have all the features, I think I do but wanted to make sure

I was able to upgrade to the new notes app. I have the new news app. I have the wallet changed from passbook. I can take screenshots if that would make it better. I google on iOS 9 features & found out that you can request a desktop version by tapping on the address bar. for example CBSSports.com would it take you to the desktop version but it does not work. am doing this right

I thought the mail was supposed to change to

No, you request the desktop version of a web page by selecting the share icon (square with up pointing arrow).

Regardless if you updated OTA or thru iTunes you are getting the same OS update which is iOS 9.0
