Forgive the confusion but first let's figure out what device you have. The iBook is one of Apple's older laptops, and assuming that since you posted the iOS software version you must mean an iPad.

Secondly, the Square Readers only require the reader itself which attaches to the 3.5 headphone jack, and accompanying software. I don't recall a SIM card being needed, unless, your iPad is cellular as well as wifi.
