Does the new Photo program allow the creation of slideshows.

My wife is a teacher and still needs the ability to do slideshows and export them to DVD (I know this is antiquated, but it needed in school environment.)

The beta hasn't been out that long... Perhaps that detail will be discussed in coming days...

There are several 3rd party apps that do slide shows. My favorite that would work well in the classroom is Shadow Puppet.
