Does screen size matter to you?

This seems to be the biggest thing I debate with myself about. Owning both an i5 and S4 they have almost a full inch difference in screen size.
I prefer to use the s4 because of its screen but I love the reliability of the iPhone/Apple as well as support for it and the fact that 90% chance you won't need support for it.

Anyway, with the new i6/i6c coming out and reporting to have 5.5 & 4.7 in screens respectively do you think that is better for Apple to be getting bigger screens? Would that be a reason you would buy a phone?

For me, yes. It is one of my defining factors as I use both thumbs to type my messages and the current 4-in screen of the i5 I have seems to be too small of a phone for me to text etc. comfortably. What about you?

I want the biggest possible phone. I would use the rMini if it had the phone app. I don't care how stupid I look.

For me I prefer the size of my 5s. As far as Apple and big screens, there's a market for it, so why not. Pretty sure it will out sell like every other iDevice.

Honestly, after owning a Note 3 (That I'm writing on right now), I really don't like huge phones. This phone has been used as a tablet only. I've got an iPhone 5c and 5s on my lines.

It just feels awkward holding big devices up to my head, toting them around at work, and using it for everything.

I've found that I'm much more comfortable with smaller devices. One handed use and portability are big pluses in my book.

I don't see myself moving away from the phone/tablet combo because, simply because of the compromises I have to make if I were to have a Samsung Galaxy Note-type device as a daily driver. I love having one-handed ease of use, and it makes things fast and covert when I use my phone.

Phone capabilities should come first and not the rest of the stuff. Thankfully my iPhones get me to where I want to go on both modes of usage.

This is interesting and not the first time I've heard it

I prefer a small screen it took me a little while to get accustomed to the 4 inch screen but know of many people that wouldn't mind carrying a tablet on there hip

Yes screen size does matter to me. I'm not buying anything larger than my Moto X with a 4.7" screen. My small girlish hands just can't handle the phablets.

I like the size right now of my 5s. If it were a little tiny bit bigger that wouldn't bother me. However if they make it like a samsung note I will probably move my interests towards the s4. I really hope they don't do that

It does matter to me, which is why I have an HTC One and a Note 3 to go along with my iPhone 5. The Note 3 has a great screen but it is just too big in my opinion.

It's also why I would drop both of the Android phones in a heartbeat if Apple do bring out a circa 4.7" iPhone 6.

A couple of months ago I would have said no, but since I purchased a Galaxy Note3...YES it does matter (I can see with these OLD eyes without reading glasses). I would like the iPhone(6) to be no larger than a 5 inch screen, that would be a perfect size for ME. Even though I like the 5.7 inch size of the Note3, it can be awkward at times for normal phone operations. That's mainly why I've kept my 5s and other reasons.

Interesting guys.

Someone I met at my old job won at a casino and purchased a Note 3 with a case when it first came out (among other things) and she had the right idea. Don't hold the phone to your face...that's what Bluetooth is for. Not sure how that works as I've never used a Bluetooth ear piece before but I'd go with using headphones.

Having more issues with my s4 now getting a replacement phone tomorrow to see if it fixes the issues I've been having. If not I'm probably going to ask for a new nano sim tomorrow so that I can use my iPhone. Probably won't stick with it though... X.x the screen size just drives me crazy but if the issues don't stop on my s4 I'm just going to chuck it. If only the iPhone 6 were coming out this month...then I could use my upgrade on it. Hahaha

I can't use Bluetooth. I've tried many different headsets from ones that dangle over the ear to one's that have multiple shaped ear pieces. I don't know what it is but it's just uncomfortable for me.

Then again, I had a lot of ear infections when I was a child. So it's really hard for me to be comfortable with things on or around my ears. I can barely use my headphones for music. Even then, I'll take them off constantly.

I had read some of these posts yesterday and then I was at a doctors office this morning and observed something that was interesting to me. There were two patients sitting in the waiting room. Both of them were on their phones and both had them to their ear. One person had an iPhone 5s and the other had a Note 3. Neither of them had cases on their phone. I have both phones myself and I have never been uncomfortable using either as a phone. The Note is a little much to carry around sometimes, but it never bothered me to put it to my ear and talk on. Anyway, the point is that I actually thought that the person trying to hold onto the iPhone looked more uncomfortable and a little silly than the person using the Note 3. They were both average sized men I would say. I never realized just how small the iPhone looks when someone is holding it to their head without a case on it. I have a case on mine anytime I leave the house and most of the time in the house. I like using a case because it adds a little bit to the phone making it easier to hold onto. I like to use my Note 3 with either no case or a thin Spigen case on it.

Just thought it was interesting considering so many people think others look silly with the Note series phones to their ear. I actually felt the opposite today. I just didn't expect it. I always have understood why so many people think the Note series is too big, I just never thought about the opposite being true of the iPhone. Obviously this was just my observation this morning. I am not knocking either phone. I use and like both of them.

LOL! Gotta love the honesty.

I agree that the size matters. I have small hands and small pockets...but I have older eyes. I am appreciating larger screened devices but they still need to be small enough to fit into hands and pockets. I usually use a BT piece so holding it to my head is not a real issue and I usually 2-hand the iP5 to type so... Long story, less long... I would jump on a 4.7"-5" device. I would have to try out a 5.5" device. Might be too big.

Well stated. Do you remember the Blackberry 7200 models? People used to say that holding it to your ear to talk was silly and embarrassing, but I didn't care what anyone thought or how they viewed it. I still feel that way. I will use a device in the manner that I want and no matter how silly someone else may view it. I am always amazed at how others want to dictate how another uses something their own item. #smh

Wow! There's a flashback. Lol. It is crazy how things go though. We went from these huge phones to seeing how small we could make them. Now it's back to how big is too big? I think the big thing for me is balancing size with usefulness and that's a very personal thing. I think the Note 3 is big for some people but I think it needs to be that big for it to be useful for what it's designed for. It works for those that want those features. That's why I think apple will give choices in size for sure.

Completely agree. I hate giant phones.
