Does HomePod’s security make it less creepy than Amazon Echo?

So no data will be sent to Apple until you say your pass phrase to HomePod. Apple’s security was tested and shown victorious when they took their stand against the FBI in the 2016 case with the iPhone 5c. So I’m pretty sure Apple’s security has proven to be one of the best in the world and best at protecting our data.

Does Apple’s security make it seem better and, more importantly, less creepy, than Amazon Echo devices? Do you trust Apple more?

As my iPhone is already listening for Hey Siri all the time, the addition of HomePod to my household will not make me twice about security.
