Documents and Sync using up all my cellular data plan

My data hog is "System Services > Documents & Sync". I can rule out that it is caused by a misbehaving third part app.

That’s exactly the behaviour I was seeing. It did show “Documents and Sync” as the biggest user, but the actual misbehaviour was triggered by “Transit.app”.

Why? I don’t know exactly. I really only figured it out by correlation.

I mapped out (mentally) the hours where I had high data usage, and which apps I was using across those times.

Eventually, the common thread became “Transit.app”.

Reduced my usage of the app, and the data usage went down drastically. We are talking about 1.5-2GiB/hour.
