Disable Swipe Search?

Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the search feature accessed by swiping on the home screen (to the left of the main screen)?

I loved it when they got rid of this feature in the past couple of updates, and being able to swipe down to search kind of makes it a bit redundant.

I apologize if this was asked already...I searched but didn't see anything.

Yeah, unfortunately, I haven't found a way. I'd like to be able to do so on the iPad that we have for the grandkids... because they click and swipe and try everything... even looked in Restrictions.

I've been searching too, but to no avail.

I'm also not too fond of the running app switcher either.
