Deletion problems

I often add a web page to the home screen if I'm going to be using it for a while, I have found out that I cannot delete them by holding the ikon and then hitting the ? x" , the screen ikons just flash on and off endlessly and I have to perform a forced close. That can't be right ! how do I fix it ? It used to work.

If you have not already, I would try to reboot the device. Something sounds like it is stuck.
