Deleting iMessages ?

When I delete a iMessage by pressing it and going to more and then pressing delete will this delete the message off the other persons device or only mine ?

Only yours. You cannot delete iMessages from another persons device. Other messaging apps do have this feature though. There have been discussions that iOS 14 would include the ability to retract messages but my understanding at least through the current betas, it is still not possible.

Only deleting it from your own device is sort of pointless, or so I have always thought ! This feature could sort out some awful rickets if you could do it !!

Totally agree. Although my understanding is even in WhatsApp when you retract a message, there is a notification that a message was edited/removed. Also, I know a ton of people that screen shot and save messages. Completely ridiculous in my mind. Like I could never see myself arguing with someone over a message and then being like, “I’ve got the screenshots” to prove it
