Cydia Datebase error (may have found solution but don't know how to do it)

Error: Datebase
Encountered a section with no
Package header

Just SSH into your iPhone, navigate to the following folder:

/private/var/lib/apt/lists

delete everything except the folder "partial" (You can move them to a folder in your PC/MAC just in case)

Restart Cydia and no more warning this time! Go to Changes and press Refresh and all the changes should be there again!

I think this is the correct thing to do, from my hour of research. I'm still new to jailbreaking. So I've got no idea how to do this above solution. I've also read when SSH you have to change your password from alpine to something else. I'd like to do that to keep my phone safe.
