Could the battery in my iPad have gone bad?

Where I live we use 220 Electricity. I just brought my IPad to the US. I shipped it in my suitcase, in a case and
surrounded by clothing. It was, however, under the plane in freezing temperatures for 11 hours.
I warmed it up and it worked. However, I can't get it to recharge. I tried different cables, with no change.
Could the battery have gone bad? Any suggestions?

It's possible, but doubtful being that the device works. If you're in an area with an Apple Store nearby, drop in and have them take a look at it.
