could not activate cellular data network with 3.0 installed

Hi everyone. I installed 3.0 and I'm getting the above error message when trying to use data. I've reset the network settings and cleared browser history, cookies and cache. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

Are you a developer or assigned to a developer's team?

Remember, OS 3.0 is still in beta (GM has been released only to developers). Your UDID must be on file with Apple before you can use the beta or GM software.

The GM can be used without being on a dev list. Also if it's the beta, this would not be an issue, the phone would not activate and he would have the purple recovery mode screen.

I know there was a leak of the 3.0 on the torrents...was checking to see if this was the installed version...

hi! this is my first post so i may be a bit of a newbie...

I installed 3.0 and I'm getting the above error message when trying to use data.

thought I'd bump this thread now that 3.0 is officially jailbroken.

I'm on T-Mobile and had no issues using EDGE on my 2G iPhone in the past - anyone find a workaround by chance?

all far as I can tell, everything else on my iphone works ok!

hey - turns out the APN settings during the upgrade from 2.x to 3.0 were wiped out

put wap.voicestream.com back in (no username/password) and we're golden.

*slap on head*

hope this is useful for someone else :)

I've also had the same problem. Internet is not connecting and I'm getting the message "Could not activate cellular data network". Also, before the new 3.0 update, I was having this same issue along with sometimes not being able to call out or send text messages out, and dropped calls. Anyone know of a fix?

I had the same issue this morning with 3G..."Could not activate cellular data network" but after an hour or a bit less it started working again...I assume this was an AT&T issue
