how can i back up my contacts? i thought i remembered a option in itunes when the phone was plugged in, but now its not there, is it automatic? i ordered my iphone 4 and dont want to lose and have to re enter all my contacts.

You have to choose to sync your contacts with something:
- Outlook
- Mail
- Google
- Microsoft Mail
- etc
You set it up on the "Info" tab in iTunes when your device is connected.
