Contact groups

Is there a way to set up contact groups for say email.

You can do those through either Outlook or Address Book (if you have a mac). Then sync your phone and they will show up as a contact, to whom you can then email, text, etc. depending on the group. You might be able to do them from Gmail, I don't know though because I don't sync my contacts through there.

Contact groups in Outlook don't sync to the iPhone.
