I am sorry if this is a stupid question but I am not sure what the interest in this is. It seems like it does pretty much the same as a blue ray with internet access. I love apple products. Just not sure what's so special about it.
I didn't go for the original Apple TV because it was a fairly expensive and didn't have all that great of a selection (other than the iTunes Store.) The Apple TV 2 is less expensive and has more content, so I sprang for it.
I almost never rented movies from DirecTV. I'd rather buy the movies I want to watch multiple times (and movies whose director commentary and/or special features I want to see) on DVD or BD. But with Netflix, I can review movies and TV shows I've already seen and watch movies and TV shows I missed, for one very low monthly fee.
There's still the iTunes Store, You Tube, and all that. Plus Vimeo, which I'd rarely used before.
