Connecting 2 MAC desktops to a Back-UPS PRO 1500

I'm backing up 2 MAC desktops with a APC Back-UPS Pro 1500. There is 1 data port to connect to 1 MAC. The internal MAC software reads the battery life and will shut down at 25%. I would like to connect the second MAC to the UPS. A simple Y splitter does not seem to do it. Suggestions?

We have hundreds of UPSs ranging from small to specialized and rack mounted data center units. In all that and with years of experience I don't know of any way to share a serial cable that's practical or affordable. Some APC units have network options for sharing, and they have the free appliance (virtual machine). For what you describe we generally put a unit on each personal computer. I would just be using two units for what you describe.
