Complete back up on iTouch 4g?

Hello I'm new,
Is it possible to back up all data from my iTouch to a single file I can on my mac or device? So if anything ever happens I can just restore it on my iTouch and have it working like the day I restored it?
The best way for me to describe it would be like a nandroid backup on an andorid. And sorry like I said I'm new to this so try not to bash me if I said anything.... please lol thankyou.

If your iPod Touch is gen 4 and your on iOS 5, you can create iCloud backups. Or connect to your computer which has the latest itunes installed and you can backup your Touch there. I have no idea what nandroid is there is can't help you there.
