Cold boot 3Gs w 4.01?

How do I do cold boot this thing? I want to clear the apps loaded into memory from previous uses of apps.

However I reboot (pressing the power and home key simultaneously), the apps I last used still show up when I double-click the home button.

Shouldn't a real cold boot clear the apps from the memory?

double tap the home button, then hold over app.. then a delete icon will come up.. they'll you'll remove them just like you do an app on the home screen. I clear mine out about once a day..

Yes, I suppose one could close all the loaded apps one-by-one. It can be a pain to do so for 40+ apps I find loaded over a couple of days.

No, there isn't.

To easy your mind a little though, those apps showing aren't doing anything. They're just there so you can get to them quickly. Since you have used them, it's possible you might want to use them again.
