Am I the only one who feels pressing and holding to get the red dash is completely unintuitive and ridiculously annoying??! I feel like we should be able to swipe up to get the app switcher, then just swipe up whatever apps we want to close. That momentary pause waiting for the dash drives me nuts!

Since force closing apps isn’t recommended, I get why Apple made it work this way.
Here is Apple’s official statement about force closing apps:

Force close an app:
When you double-click the Home button, your recently used apps appear. The apps aren’t open, but they're in standby mode to help you navigate and multitask. You should force an app to close only when it’s unresponsive.
