Check out this free alternative to "Maps" - it's free and available in the app store. I'm just downloading and about to check out.

From the images it looks great, hopefully it brings back what we've lost.
Though saying that, I had to use the navigation option with the new 'Maps' app and although it wasn't any good at pinpointing places it actually got me there without a hitch.
