Change News on spotlight suggestions iOS 9

Is there anyway to get the news that shows up in the proactive Siri screen slash spotlight suggestions instead of the political bs that is there?

It's an algorithm that takes into account what's new, and trending based on the things you've selected in your news feed.

Guess I need to use it more. I do wish it would just use my favorites instead. Thanks. It's what I thought
