Hi, my question is, can I type and search an address or street name, in Apple maps, using CarPlay, or is Siri the only way to search places and streets?

I guess my question would be, why would you want to, when using Siri is so much easier and it's also Hands Free.

Yes you can, in the maps app, there is an option to use Siri or the on screen keyboard.
