Cant open or veiw SMS?!

When I tap on the SMS text it opens and shows my inbox as empty then it closes again. Right now it says I have 15 messages and I cant veiw them. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I've read that I could try resetting my iphone but would this mean it would have to be unlocked and jailbroken again?

Have you tried hard-resetting the phone? (press and hold home and power button simultaniously until the apple icon comes on).

This may resolve it

And all this does it reboot the phone, you won't lose anything

Are you using a JB sms app or the stock app? if JB app, try uninstalling it and re-installing it.

Could also be that your SMS.db is corrupt. If it is you will need to delete it and start a new one, but try the other options first.

Your SMS.db is in var/mobile/Library/SMS/
back it up before deleting, incase that wasn't the issue, you can put it back.

To start a new one, open the apple stock SMS app and text a message to yourself.

Ok I still cant get it to work. Shutter could you please give me further instructions on how to do this? Do I need ibrick? I read about it on another forum but I dont know where to download it from. Thanks in advance

You should be able to ssh into your phone to do this, or you can use finder to do it. Just remember that you will lose all text messages you have stored now, and start from scratch.
