hi guys,

i'm ultra-concerned with my iPad or PC sending out my personal data or monitoring how i use my PC/iPad to someone on the internet. for example, an app that gives me the ability to record my calls on Skype as MP3 files and then secretly uploading those MP3 files back to the app's author on the internet without my permission.

i use a Windows Phone as my main device and that's super easy to securely and privately send files from my PC to the Windows Phone via the microSD card as i know it's impossible for someone on the internet to be able to read the data on the microSD card as it's not attached to the internet in any way.

i just want to know the most secure way possible for me to send my video/ebook/photo files between my PC and iPad?

i'm definitely not doing anything illegal and i just want to keep the data on my PC and iPad private as i'm a retired guy.

i thought the most secure way would be connecting the hardware devices using a cable and sending files through the cable...? it seems like the only way to send files between a PC and iPad is through Apple's iTunes app, but since iTunes is so dependent on the internet to function how can i know that iTunes isn't sending data back to Apple through the internet???

i'm not really sure how a VPN would help me?

wouldn't i only need a VPN if i'm sending the files between the iPad and PC over the internet like using an internet service like Dropbox???

thanks!

You can download one of the numerous USB-like apps such as Goodreader, Phone Drive and numerous others on your iPad, and after that, you can connect your iPad to your PC via USB and then drag and drop the items via iTunes between the two devices.

thanks, but i really don't want to buy one of those external USB HDD's that are made for the iPad because they require the use of a 3rd party app...

how can i directly send files between PC and iPad without using a 3rd party app?

so what would you say is the most "secure" way to send files between an iPad and PC so that other parties are unable to see what files are being transferred?
