cannot delete ibooks on ipad ios7

I cannot delete ibooks on my ipad 2 since udating to ios 7

In list view, swipe to the left on a title; doing so will reveal the delete button. In bookshelf press "edit" and select the titles you wish to delete, then press delete.

Neither method removes title from bookshelf. It seems as though "delete" button does not work.
