Can you screen mirror from iPhone X to iPad?

Maybe a silly question, but in iOS 11 all I see is the option to use 'screen mirroring', which requires an Apple TV. And I don't want to mirror to an Apple TV, I want to mirror my iPhone X's display to an iPad.

Is this still possible in iOS 11?

Not that I am aware of without the use of some sort of app.

Everything I've looked at so far says the same too - very frustrating! You think everything would just work together (as it usually does). Hopefully this comes in an update soon!
