Can you recommend an RPG type game for my dad?

Hi there! I'm looking for a game for my dad. He loves RPG type games where you build a city/army/houses, etc. But he's looking for that type of game without competition. Meaning he doesn't want to go to war with an opponent or even have one. Please help me find a game for him. He currently plays Sim City and enjoys that so far.

It would be great if the game is free, but I don't mind paying a little for a game he may enjoy. Also something compatible with the iPhone X. Thank you!
