Can you help me with setting up iMessage and FaceTime on my iPad Mini?

I just got a new iPad Mini and I'm having difficulty verifying my email address to use iMessage and FaceTime. I sign into my Apple ID, change my email addy I want to use, and I get a message saying "Unable to verify address. An email with a verification link has been sent to the above email address." However, no email was sent. I should have like 4-5 emails by now. Any advice?

Contact Apple support online. They should be able to get the problem resolved in no time. I can't really think of any solutions other than that at the moment, but if I do, I'll post them
