My husband has iPhone through his work, with a work number. I think he has set up Verizon account to get a secret number on the work iPhone . Can he do that and if he did what does +1 in front of numbers I think he called mean

The 1 before the number designates USA. I don't have a clue about a secret number. Some apps give you a second number. Google Voice, Hangouts, Line2 and others.
