No there is nothing for the iPhone 5. The tethered jailbreak is for the 3GS/4. The 4s and 5 cannot be jailbroken in any way at this time.

I'm sure you guys know this, but just to clarify for anyone new to jailbreaking: there is no iOS 6 jailbreak for the 4S, but if you're still on 5.1.1, you can still jailbreak that....right? (I never had a 4S.)

Yes you can using the latest redsn0w or absinthe. It's untethered.

jailbreaking iphone is much important because there are much limitations in using iphone before jailbreaking the iphone.

Jailbreaking your iPhone nowadays isn't as crucial as before with all the updates to iOS but still nice to be able to customize to your liking.

Yes iPhone 5 jailbroken, but not yet ready for public consumption

Is this similar to the iPhone 4 jb about a month ago? I had cydia running on my iPhone 4 from launch of ios6 via ssh install method and am wondering if something similar to this is out for iPhone 5. Possible link to the "failbreak" the devs are using?

No it's not like that. The iPhone 4 will always have a jailbreak due to the hardware. What the guys did on launch day requires a dev account with apple to do, and uses copywrited code, so they can't release it. That's what takes so long--finding legal loopholes.

Oh yes. As eager as I am, I don't want another geohot thing. I would rather have them wait and have a safe, legal jailbreak. But oh I miss bite so bad. ;(
