I used to miss the notification light when I made a switch a couple years back, now I am used to the vibrations that my phone gives to tell me if I am missing a notification and just simply tap the screen to take a glance. I remember when I did have a notification light on another device I would still tap the screen to see if I missed anything even when the notification light wasn't blinking. So for me it's a non issue. I will agree on the dialer concern though, would be nice if Apple allowed you to edit the number properly, I do find it to be a bit clumsy, especially if you add special commands to the front of a number and then do some pasting, it overwrites the *86 command or whatever command you are using.
