Can not open Facebook app on iPad 2

Help ....I have a Facebook app on my iPad 2 that I have used for 2 years without a problem.
Two days ago I tried to open the app as I always do and couldn't .
Can I delete this app with out losing my data ?
Don't think it's my Facebook account as I can open it on my iPhone 1 and my dest top computer .

What kind of data are you afraid of losing? If the data is stored on Facebook's servers then no, you will not lose it. It should sync back to your device after you've re-installed the app, but I'm not a Facebook user so I cannot say with any certainty. Have you updated the Facebook app to the latest version?

Deleting the app will not hurt anything your FB is in FB not your phone that's why you can access it on multiple devices ..

Nothing is deleted. Just like the above posters said. It's all on Facebook's servers.
