can not backup my iphone

when trying to backup my iphone in the icloud I keep geting the notice that there is not enough memory space available also the free space as appears in the device is 5.0GB.

It's not the phone memory it's the iCloud memory. Go to settings then iCloud and manage storage. That will show you how much you have left b
