Can location affect Airpods connection to my iPhone?

I

iMore Question

I travel into London quite a lot using my Apple Airpods and have noticed that every time I enter Paddington train station they start cutting out, as soon as I enter the London Underground or jump onto a train leaving the station they return to normal...I feel stupid asking this as I'm almost the answer is no... but can location affect the Bluetooth connection? Could there be other wireless things going on the the station interfering?

If not could this just be a big coincidence?

It could be that there are a lot of Bluetooth beacons, wifi transmitters, other wireless technologies in the station to keep things running in respect to the trains. Also, a lot of people have those stuff also enabled on their phones and I guess it could affect wireless signals, Bluetooth or otherwise.
