Is the Apple TV able to support playing games? If so, how would I play them? Can I use a regular gaming remote or would I need to purchase a special one?

After more than 15 years covering everything Apple, it’s with a heavy heart we announce that we will no longer be publishing new content on iMore and the iMore forums will be closing as of November 1st, 2024.
The 4th (current) gen Apple TV DOES support games, and they all work with the Apple Remote, BUT Apple also sells a gaming remote, that looks more like the gaming controllers you are used to from console systems.
