My dad got an iPhone 5C and he couldn't pay the upkeep and he didn't like the iPhone. He gave it to me and I want to know how to use iMessage and FaceTime with it unactivated (Bad ESN) I've went into settings and turned off iMessage and FaceTime and restarted the phone and turned it back on and I hear you must wait about 24 hrs for it to activate. Will it sti work if I don't have the phone activated?

A "bad ESN" = cellular (carrier) block/blacklist. However, you should be able to use those services via wifi, AFAIK.
