Can I update from 9.0 to 9.3 iPhone 6S?

I

iMore Question

I have an iPhone 6S which I have never updated the software on since launch. I have grown wary of Apple over the years stealing performance from my device as they add features, eventually forcing me to upgrade because the device is so slow it barely works anymore.

However, I am very interested in adding the Night Shift functionality to my phone.

So if there's some way I can update to iOS 9.3 without updating to iOS 10, I would like to try that.

I should not think so, but I would go strait to iOS 10, I really don't think that iOS10 will impact on a 6S, I have the 6S+ and ran the public beta throughout with no problems.

Welcome to iMore! I don't think Apple is signing any version of iOS 9 now so you'll have to go straight to iOS 10.

EDIT: Apple IS still signing 9.3.5 but you'll have to download and install the .ipsw file using iTunes. Updating over-the-air is going to give you iOS 10.0.2.
