Can I turn off restrictions altogether

I want to be able to turn off my password for the iTunes. I only need FB, Twitter and the new pages manager for FB. I never make purchases but I keep getting prompted for credit card info even for free apps.
Can I turn off password requirement? If so how?

If you have a payment method in place you can. I no longer get prompted for a password for free apps. There's a few exceptions. Not sure yet what that's about. But mostly it doesn't ask for a password. Here's how.
