Can I set my iPad to prevent internet access when my kids are using it?

I

iMore Question

I have password protect on our iPad to open it. But would like to know if I can set it so the kids cannot use the internet unless I sign in Safari with password known only by myself.

I want them to be able to listen to audio books I've put in itunes when I'm not available to supervise internet access. Is there a way I can set it up so that they can listen to the stories in iTunes but not access safari (without password) please?

Re: kid safe safari on ipad

You have the restrictions in which you can choose which apps are available. Would that help?

I believe you can go to the restrictions page and there is a setting to lock the screen on a desired app so unless you have the password you can not exit and switch apps.
