Can I restore an iMac with a MacBook Pro backup in Time Machine?

Can I restore an iMac with a MacBook Pro backup in Time Machine? I only have a backup of my MacBook Pro in Time Machine and I would like to know if I can use it to restore an iMac using Time Machine. Thank you in advance.

I don't see why you can't. I mean as long as the iMac can support the same macOS as your MBP, it shouldn't be a problem, in my opinion.

As others have said, you must have the same OS version of the Time Machine Backup or newer installed on the iMac in order to restore.
