Can I put my Apple TV in a closet but still use the Apple TV Remote?

When they talk about the Bluetooth connection does that mean that the remote connects via Bluetooth? If this is the case can I keep the AppleTV in the closet and still use the remote?

It might work, BUT even if it doesn't you should be able to get the remote app to work on your iPhone or iPad. (And there are 3rd Party Android apps too)
