iPhone 5 home button

I have an iPhone 5 that if you pull the display and short out the two prongs that the home button touches siri will not come up. One prong does have 1.7 volts. I believe it is not getting to the main board. Is this a main board issue or cable from prong to main board issue. I am trying to figure out what part to replace.

Re: iPhone 5 home button

Why would you take off the display and then short out the two prongs you referenced? I am *assuming* the problem does not occur until after you short out the prongs?

Re: iPhone 5 home button

Because I have already replaced he home button and have verified the problem of the home button not working is not the button. When you short the two prong next to the lighting port it is the same a pressing the home button. Its how you check to make sure the signal of the home button being press is getting back to the main board
