That depends on if the AM or FM station is streaming on the Internet, since the iPhone doesn't have an AM or FM radio receiver built in.
Only about 3 of my local radio stations are available to stream on Tune In. That is because the rest have decided to stream on I-Heart radio. I do like the Tune In app very much an listen to streams from all over the world.

TuneIn Radio has a good selection of stations. FM and AM. There's a free version with ads.
