Can I delete playlists from iTunes on my iPhone 5?

New to iPhones: I want to sync my phone with my iTunes on my PC. I have TONS of music on iTunes on my PC and do not want it all on my phone. It would take FOREVER to uncheck all of the boxes. If I do an initial sync (phone with pc itunes) how do I prevent transfer of all of the music to my phone?

You would be best to choose only what you want to have on your iPhone the first tome and do your sync. It is also best to uncheck from the iTunes side what you don't want any longer on your phone so the next Sync you do those songs or playlists won't be on your phone.

When you hook up to iTunes go to the Music tab when your iPhone is selected in the left pane. Change it from Entire music library to Selected playlists, artists, albums and genres. Then you can go through and select whatever you want to be synced to your phone.
