My wife and I have an iPhone 4S with a 30-pin connector and an iPhone 5C with a Lightning connector. We are looking to buy plug-in external storage devices to expand the available memory - especially for photos / videos when away on holiday. We also want a similar storage device for use with an iPad Air at home for general purpose enhancement of storage, especially photos and music. I have been looking at SanDisk iXpand, Leef iBridge etc etc. All of these have Lightning connectors.
My questions are:
Can these devices be physically connected to the 30-pin connector of the iPhone 4S using an adapter or cable?
If so, are they compatible with the older iOS on the iPhone 4S?
If not, is there an older storage device that will connect and is compatible and is still available to buy?
Many thanks.
